Not had any snow yet? Gtechniq W4 Citrus Foam may be your answer. But with so many car care products on the market, the debate surrounding whether snow foams are actually needed continues.
“Snow foams look great but they don’t actually do anything”- this is a misconception by many people looking at detailing for the first time.
Rob Earle, Gtechniq managing director, said: “W4 Citrus Foam certainly plays a prominent part in the Gtechniq detailing range. Snow foams can save you a lot of time when cleaning a car, they actively cling-on to dirt, breaking down contaminants, making them easier to wash away – hence cutting the amount of elbow grease needed to make sure your car is clean.”
What makes Gtechniq W4 stand out?
While many other traditional pre-wash snow foams come loaded with caustic chemicals, W4 Citrus Foam is a pH neutral formula that removes hard-to-shift grime, without damaging sealants, coatings or waxes.
It combines an effective citrus degreaser with a strong foaming agent, making it tough on road grime and bug spatter, but kind to waxes and coatings.
How do you use W4 Citrus Foam?
Snow foams can be used in a number of ways – either with a pressure washer and lance, or a pump sprayer. However, you will get more foam when using a lance, this is simply because of the speed at which the water mixes with the foam solution in the bottle.
For best results when using any snow foam, make sure the car is kept out of direct sunlight. Cars should never be cleaned in direct sunlight as products will dry out much quicker on the surface.
When using a snow foam lance with W4 for light dirt we recommend a 1:400 dilution, and 1:200 for heavier soiling – but people’s preferences when it comes to how much foam will vary depending on the equipment being used and how soiled a car is. When using a pump sprayer, a higher concentration of product to water is needed and a dilution of 1:20 is recommended.
Spray the foam all over the car and allow it to dwell on the surface for 5 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
W4 is a prewash, so after rinsing continue to wash your car as you would normally.
